Here we go the show starts here!

As one of the producers and judge of the final outcome, I have decided to take auditions for the potential song that will be used in the music video. I am going to listen to various different tracks, artist(s) and genres and decide which song is fit for purpose. I have a few ideas in mind towards the song I would like to use however, this can all change during the auditions. I am going to listen to so many different songs that both my eyes and ears are getting tired. I have also had discussions with my fellow producer and judge Pui-San. There have been some likes and dislikes as well as agreements and disagreements because we have similar yet different tastes in music.
After a lot of deliberation we have reached our finalists

Hello and welcome to a brand new edition on Blogger.com. Todays is an exciting day as we are going to start a new show whereby svereal differnt artist create songs/tracks in order for them to win a chace to have a music video produced my the film producers of the thriller film Stalker. Try and make a music video production company use the other blog to help you with that. Say that the other production team has also created a music production line. Processing

Myself an Pui-San have so many ideas in mind but don't know what music we are looking for. After looking at Newgrounds.com as well as Unsigned.com we have noticed that there are many more vocal tracks on Unsigned.com then Newgrounds.com. Therefore were are sticking to Unsigned.com.

We started looking at Unsigned.com and realise there are so many music genres and some that we haven't even heard of. We take our time to listen to the genres we haven't heard of as the will provide us fresh ideas in order to create something for an audience and not for groupies or a group of fans. This did not go down to well.

We took a break and thought about what we like to do, what we could do with the resources made available to us, possible artists/bands we could follow upon many more things.

Here was our conclusion.

As discussed, when creating the music video I have to ensure that the song/track used is not mainstream or copyrighted (due to legal reasons). After searching the web, I came across another website that provides individuals with songs they can use in their work. The website is known as Unsigned.com.

Unsigned.com is a website for unsigned artists and bands to host their mp3s/tracks/songs and get exposure. The website showcases unsigned artists, independent labels. The genre of music played on the website include Hip-Hop, R'n'B, Rap, Indie, Acoustics and many more.

If used acknowledgements would be made I the final product.

Inspiration - King Of Pop - Michael Jackson

A great leader, icon, inspiration, idol, star, inventor and possible creator/founder of pop music the one and only King Of Pop and late Michael Jackson (MJ); created a path/ led the way/made pop music what it is today.

I have decided to look at MJ because he has created many unbelievable music videos through the years and has ensured that each video is different. Whether he'd be creating a story, showing off his spectacular dance moves or creating a montage (combination of images/photos that are related or have a link) his videos defiantly stand to attention and capture audiences and fans.

Videos that demonstrate MJ's dance moves include:

MJ has performed with other amazing artist such as Akon, Briney Spears, Nysnc, Destinys Child, Fergie, Usher and many more.......

89 - Smashing Pumpkins release the song Tonight Tonight in 1992

88 - I Want Love sang by Elton John (an icon to music) which focuses on Drug Addiction. Other well known songs mentioned at this position include Elton's Don't Go Breaking My Heart with KiKi Dee as well as his song I'm Still Standing ... yeah yeah yeah (I actually knew this song and was dancing along with it.

77 - When this song came on everybody was on their feet doing the dance moves. It was so funny. MC Hammer with Can't Touch This. Although this is Old Skool, it is still played at parties, raves, pubs and clubs and at the odd disco. This well known song brought dance music and baggy pants with is catchy dance moves and harem trousers. This is what I call an introduction to break dancing but also brought back the 1940's fashion.

76 - This was a song by the one and only, famous British Pop Band, The Beatles. I would like to call them the boy band, of all boy bands. In 1967 they brought about a song called The Strawberry Field.

74 - In the year 2000 as part of a new millennium, Wu Tang Clang came up with a song called Gravel Pit. How could they!!! This is not a song for a new millennium.

70 - Police - Every Breath You Take - 1983 - Black and White Images of artist singing. P-Diddy has also created a copy of the song.

Types Of Music Genres

Just like films, music has several different genres. Ranging from reggae to indie and classical to punk and many more. Below are a few of the music genres.

Jazz Music

• Originated in 20th century in African American communities.
• Other related genres include; Blues, Folk, March and Ragtime (which on their own create other music genres)
• Typical Instruments include: Vocals, Saxophone, Trombone, Flute, Drums, Guitar, Double Base and many more.
• Jazz music also forms sub genres such as Mini-Jazz, Gypsy Jazz as well as Fusion genres such as Calypso Jazz, Free Funk.

Rock Music

• Originated early 1950’s in the UK and USA.
• Typical instruments include; Electric and Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Drums, Synthesizer
• Stylistic origins include Country, Blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll.
• Sub Genres include: Grunge Hard Rock, Christian Rock.
• Fusion Genres include: Rap Rock, Afro Rock, Samba Rock

Reggae Music

• Originated in Jamaica in the late 1960’s.
• Related genres include; R ‘n’ B, Jazz, Blues, Mento, Calypso, Ska, Rock Steady.
• Related instruments include, BASS, Drums, Guitar, Organ, Melodica, Brass Instruments.
• Also known as Dancehall and Dub
• Sub genres include; Roots Reggae, Lovers rock.
• Fusion genres; Reggae fusion, Saggae, 2 Tone.

Dance Music

• Originated/ established in the 1920’s
• Constructed/created mainly for the use of dancing
• Forms of dance formed through dance music include the famous Cha-Cha, Tango, Waltz and Salsa. Modern day dance music consists of break dancing, free styling.

Gospel Music

• Originated in the 20th century in the US
• Instruments used are; vocals, Organ, Guitar, Drums, Horns, Piano, Hammond
• Mainstream popularity is Interracial
• Used to express the thoughts and feelings of Christian life
• Sub genres; Urban Contemporary Gospel, Southern Gospel
• Fusion Genres; Christian Gospel Music.
