Desperately Seeking Extras
One of the scenes I would like to create in my music video is a club scene. In order to achieve this I need to find the appropriate location, props, costume, make-up and most importantly the right people in order to create the clubbing atmosphere. Getting the extras for my music video was my next challenge. This was difficult because there were times when I would have a lot of people and times when I would have no people at all. In order to make this official I decide to create a poster and PowerPoint slide that ill be given out to all form groups in my school. after publishing the Health and Safety Regulations I had to bare in mind that if any students were under the age of 16 they had to get permission from their parents. In addition, I also had to ensure that a responsible adult (teacher) was able to supervise myself and the other students while filming. Once the poster were up and I'd received permission from form tutors and parents the filming was ready to go.
Risk Assessment

Check List
We have finally been given a check. I don't blame sir for not giving it to us earlier because he has had so much to do with the IMAC's. The checklist is a simple guideline which is used in order tomake sure that we meet the requirements of the exam board in oreder to get the highest grade. The list if items (tasks) on the checklist must be met. These tasks include the following:
- Introduction - Breif
- Research & Planning - Planning, Filming ( 20 marks)
- Analysis Of Finished Video - Film Language, Critocal Theory
- Construction - Demonstrating use of Mise-en-Scene, Editing, Camera Angles/Shots etc ( 60 marks)
- Evaluation ( 20 marks)

In Working Order
A few weeks ago the IMAC's were unable to save our work therefore if any editing took place it would have been pointless. Now is all the clear. We have been aocated a group number. The group number allows us to succcessfully save our work into folders. Which is a GOOD thing. The BAD thing is the fact that other individuals can change or delete your work as they will also be saving their work in the same folder as you. I hope I dont face no problems like this. I hope I share my folder with someone I can trust.

Theres More To Media Than Meets The Eye - Feminisit Film Theory & Audiences
After the lesson on Feminist Film Theory and Audience the only thought that came to my head was that there is more to media texts tat meets the eye. The post below will explain why.
- Laura Muluey
- Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema (1975)
Steps
- Cinema reflects society
- Therefore cinema reflects a patriarchal society
- How is the patriarchal society manifested (portrayed) in the films/cinema we consume
Example
- Patriarchy and phallocentrism and linked.
- Phallocentrism - the world of the male penis
- The phallus is the symbol of power
- Guns = phallus = power
The Gaze
- The 'gaze' of the camera is the male 'gaze'
- Male gaze - active; Female gaze - passive
- Within the narrative males characters direct their gaze towards female characters.
- The spectator (audience) is made to identify with the male look, because the camera films from the optical, as well as libidinal, point of view of the male character
- Thus the 3 levels of the cinematic gaze - CAMERA, CHARACTER and SPECTATOR - that objectify the female character (the triple gaze)
- Therefore the audience is constructed as though everyone was male
- Women are forced to look as though the were a male audience member
Agency
- In classical Hollywood cinema the male protagonist has agency - he is active and powerful
- He is the agent around whom the dramatic action unfolds.
- Female character is passive/powerless - she is the object of desire for the protagonist and audience
Erotic Desire
Muluey argues that women have roles in film:
- As an object of erotic desire for the characters.
- As an object of erotic desire for the audience
An example of this can be seen in both James Bond Dr. No and Die Another Day
Suture
Classical Hollywood narrative and editing 'sutures' or positions the audience in certeain ways making only one preferred reading possible, however unconscious the audience of the position.
